Inom modern arkitektur hänvisas också begreppet genius loci till platsens specifika atmosfär, identitet och själ.Verken balanserar mellan dokumentär och fiktion, fakta och imaginära rum och blir vårdare av minnet och andan i platsen. Följ med på en resa till urbana och vilda, bebodda och folklösa, tillgängliga och avskilda platser, via ett visuellt arkiv där en koncentrerad essens och känsla av en besökt plats lever vidare i varje verk.

I remember an old man who made sculptures with a chainsaw and in Holmbom s workshop another was blowing glass. It was a different time. Us kids accompanied our parents to prayer. To us it was nice to be together, and cool to be in church. In my youth there tended to be a lot of dancing at the Community House with pop stars like the Shanes. The artist Rolf Lidberg held exhibitions at Östra (the east) school. He was most famously known as the troll painter and he made some drawings for our boys. A nice memory. As an adult, I changed profession to be a full-time craftsperson. I exhibited at the market for 25 years. I never miss the exhibitions at Samernas. The young craftspeople are very skilled, and I hope many of them continue. My profession has opened doors to many exciting places, interesting people and a life of joy and creativity. After receiving the laureate, I decided to make an exhibition of both old and completely new works side by side. It feels good! I still meet my old friends and colleagues at the market. While it is true that the program is based on a strong tradition, there is continual renewal due to the artists, exhibits and lectures. This year s topic Arctic Design will be noticeable because of all the fine exhibits as well as the articles for sale.
